Amsterdam hosted this year’s World Pride celebrations over the weekend. Besides the city’s traditional canal parade on Saturday, one of the other highlights was an evening concert that featured a headline performance from Madonna.
If Madonna’s appearance alone were not enough, the iconic star had a surprise for those gathered at the 6,000-capacity AFAS Live arena in the early hours of Sunday morning. Besides collaborator Stuart Price, Madonna welcomed Australian superstar Kylie Minogue onto the stage.

The women performed a version of Madonna’s new song, “Love Sensation”, from her chart-topping Confessions II album. They followed this by closing the set with Madonna’s past hits, “Sorry” and “Hung Up”.
The audience, unsurprisingly, went wild.

Madonna’s performance lasted 30 minutes. Besides Kylie, Madonna was also joined on stage by her collaborator, Stuart Price, and earlier in the set by Honey Dijon and Bebe Rexha.
This is not the first time Madonna and Kylie have shared a stage. The “Padam Padam” star joined Madonna on stage in 2024 during the LA leg of her Celebration tour.
Ahead of the release of Confessions II, there were rumors that Kylie would feature on the record. An appearance by Kylie on a Graham Norton interview with Madonna about Confessions II did nothing to dampen that speculation.
However, Kylie did not feature on the album version of “Love Sensation”. She also confirmed ahead of Confessions II’s release that she wasn’t on it. Kylie told the LA Times in May, “There was a rumor I was on her album, but I’m not — I’m excited to hear it, all!”
There’s no word yet on whether Kylie will appear on a forthcoming remix of the song, which already topped Billboard’s Dance Airplay chart in June.

Out Prime Minister joins canal parade
Other highlights of WorldPride in Amsterdam included the aforementioned Canal Parade. Out-gay Prime Minister Rob Jetten made history as the first serving PM of the Netherlands to join the parade aboard one of the 80 vessels.
