Most of D*n*ld Tr*mp’s cabinet came directly from the swamp, so it’s rarely a surprise when they’re told to crawl right back into it again. For the president’s decades-long friend Jeanine Pirro, you’d think it might be a different scenario. But no.
Apparently, shared history isn’t shielding the U.S. District Attorney for the District of Columbia from getting the old heave-ho. In the wake of the long (and very stupid) reflecting pool scandal, it looks like Pirro could be on her way out. At least, that’s what people are deducing after a new video of Pirro seemingly packing her bags for a long trip.

The official story is that Pirro “folded like an umbrella” when questioned about the Tr*mp DOJ’s dirty dealings concerning the peeling, algae-filled reflecting pool. Because Pirro actually did her job by filing documents that contradicted Tr*mp’s story about vandals causing damage to the memorial, she’s on her boss’s bad side.
In the past week, Pirro quietly withdrew the official charges against the 67-year-old Olympian she’d falsely accused previously of vandalizing the pool, and left Tr*mp seething. Now, he’s ready to send her packing.
Then again, there might be more to the story here, especially if we look at the context of their long friendship.
Pirro, a 74-year-old former Fox News talking head, has been sucking up to Tr*mp for actual decades. Her role in Tr*mp’s White House is more recent, but she’s proved herself a loyalist through and through, even to the point of allegedly helping Tr*mp oust Pam Bondi earlier this year after pinning the blame for the Epstein files rollout failure on the former AG.
But to understand the full lore, we’ve got to take it back all the way to the 1990s. Pirro became the first female Westchester County District Attorney in 1993. She was still a Republican back then, but with surprisingly liberal views around abortion and LGBTQ+.
As a New York DA, Pirro fought for harsher punishments for perpetrators of domestic violence. Her then-husband, Al Pirro Jr., was Tr*mp’s 1990s real estate lawyer, and Jeanine was quickly inducted into Tr*mp’s social circle—especially since Tr*mp would call Al “at all hours” about potential deals.
Later in the decade, when Al served time for tax evasion (a charge eventually pardoned by Tr*mp) Pirro’s future boss tried to help her out as a temporarily single mother with young children. This help included private plane trips to Palm Beach and Mar-a-Lago. Their friendship stayed strong for decades, with Pirro calling Tr*mp “as loyal as they come,” and Tr*mp describing Pirro as “sexy as hell.”
The two remained close friends through Pirro’s tenure at Fox, and in May of 2025, she was sworn in as the interim US Attorney for D.C.—but only after Tr*mp’s top pick, Ed Martin, was refused by the Senate. Being Tr*mp’s second choice didn’t matter to her. By August, Pirro had the job permanently.
Now, the friendship is being put to a new test as Pirro tries to pass the buck to Interior Secretary Doug Burgum to stay in Tr*mp’s good graces. But Tr*mp, incensed at being contradicted by Pirro’s refusal to persecute a senior Olympian for the reflecting pool mess-up, isn’t having it.
If Tr*mp does send her packing, it will be a huge betrayal of his over 30-year friendship with Pirro. It will also probably be a major mistake, since the man Pirro once called “as loyal as it gets” needs all the friends he can find right now.
