If you thought Superman alum and raging MAGAt Dean Cain was done embarrassing himself, you thought wrong. It wasn’t enough that Cain volunteered to join ICE last year in a move that lost him his few remaining fans. Now, he’s coming after Democratic Senate candidate Abdul El-Sayed.
Well, “coming” isn’t quite right. He tried to come for the Michigan candidate, and it immediately blew up in his face. Not surprising, really: when it comes to defeating clowns like Cain, it doesn’t exactly take kryptonite.
Because Cain is perpetually stuck in 2003—the year he was last relevant—the Tr*mp supporter thought that a racist attack on El-Sayed would be just the ticket. He thought wrong.
“Has anyone ever seen a photo of Michigan Senate candidate Abdulrahman Mohamed El Sayed (D) playing High School football?” Cain tweeted over the weekend in an attempt to catch El Sayed in what he presumed to be a lie.

Predictably enough, everyone saw though it immediately. Not only did responders come through with the photo of El Sayed as the captain of his high school team, they gave the Broken Hearts Club actor a well-deserved dragging in the process.
“I’m happy to send you that photo Dean! Just send me that picture of Trump receiving his valedictory award from Wharton School of Business,” one poster cheekily replied. “He says he was first in his class, but I can’t find a single photo.”
“Wish you have [sic] the same curiosity and persistence with releasing the Epstein files. I care more about investigating the PDFs,” one poster wrote.
The most savage response of all came for Cain where he lives. “Haven’t seen a photo of you working, that’s for sure.”
Other posters chimed in with several photos from El Sayed’s football career, leading Cain to quickly ghost the thread. Oops!
While Cain had the makings of a promising actor at the start of his career, he quickly traded in his bonafides for a career as a MAGA scold and honorary ICE officer. Now, he spends his time trying to discredit Democratic candidates by implying that their Muslim faith makes them untrustworthy. Nothing but classy choices here!
The confusing part is that despite Cain’s politics, he stands by his gay-for-pay role in Greg Berlanti’s Broken Hearts Club, where Cain’s character shares a kiss with Andrew Keegan. At the time, Cain was proud to show up for gay people.
“I played gay in two films, and I loved it,” he told Variety last year before railing against the “woke” Superman movie. “When I did Greg’s film [Broken Hearts Club], people were like, ‘We’re concerned because people might think you’re gay in real life.’ And I said , ‘Well, then I’ve done my job.’”
Apparently he doesn’t see his MAGA alignment as a contradiction here. But we sure do!
Meanwhile, Abdul El-Sayed has promised to fight “like a lion” for the LGBTQ+ community in the Senate.
“I don’t know what it’s like to be gay or to be trans, but I do know what it’s like to be discriminated against,” El-Sayed told PrideSource in June. “My job is to show up and be curious and understand what the unique manifestations of that kind of discrimination look like, but also to stand up when it’s hard, not just when it’s easy. And that’s the thing I hope that folks will count on me for.”
