Laron Best keeps skating his way to stardom.
Over the last couple of years, the queer rollerblader has built up a massive following with his bold moves and jaw-dropping style. An Atlanta native, Best first dashed onto the scene in 2024 with his ” Be Who You Are” skate party, attracting 400 onlookers and revelers to a local park.
This past weekend, Best took that energy and multiplied it by roughly 45,000. An estimated 1.8 billion people watched Sunday’s World Cup Final between Spain and Argentina, where Best was part of history.
The vogueing extraordinaire was a backup dancer for the Queen of Pop, as she kicked off the first ever World Cup halftime show with her 2000 hit “Music.”

Fortunately for Best’s fans, he’s easy to spot. The 22-year-old is the one who drops.
“It was an MF dream indeed!,” Best told Queerty via text. “I’m still grateful it still doesn’t feel real yet. MOTHA M.”
On IG, Best expressed the same “pinch me” exuberance. “I used to pray and dream of times like this. Still can’t even process this,” he posted. “Is this even real?”

Best first caught our eye when he filmed himself busting moves at an indoor skate park wearing hot rainbow booty shorts. He was determined to see if he could score a perfect 10… in front of 10s.
Spoiler alert: he accomplished his mission, soliciting a love tap from another male bystander following his fourth split of the series.
Since his viral coming out party, Best has taken his dazzling act to HBO Max, Hollywood red carpets (including the Queerties) and Milan Fashion Week. He scored his invite to Milan directly from Dan and Dean Caten, the founders of the iconic fashion brand DSQUARED2.
Fittingly, they’ve also worked with Madonna.

Laron Best is a roller skating sensation, and he’s not slowing down.
Best’s fandom for Madonna runs so deep, he brands his class as “Vogue on Skates.” Much like the icon herself, the young aerialist never censors himself.
Best performs to send a message.
“It’s much more than skating,” he previously told Queerty. “I just wanted people to see that you don’t have to be in a box.”
He’s certainly accomplished that. Unapologetically Black and queer, Best embraces his intersecting identities and wows audiences with routines that speak to his effervescent essence.
One of those impressed parties appears to be Madonna herself: the Queen of Pop is known to be extremely demanding.
By all accounts, Best’s performance was a big success.
“Performing with a lilving legend, Mother M herself in a packed stadium,” he said. “Being able to put on for my skate community with my real friends and represent the queer community while making history at the same time. My heart is so full.”
Already this summer, Best has performed for LA Black Pride, appeared in the pages of Vogue (fitting) and starred in his own modeling shoot.
For the shoot, he was wearing a speedo with a silver tinge.
Whether he’s moving or standing still, Best certainly knows how to grab our attention!
