First, we went on a trip to Camp Miasma and started The Shards, then Gus Kenworthy got engaged, and a mom clocked her son’s Hot Gay Summer
tea.
Plus, bears in P-Town got on ozempic, Heated Rivalry Season 2 told fans to puck off, and RFK Jr. discovered the ultimate bottom-friendly diet?
Otherwise, it’s been all Dolly, dudes, and dance floors.

1. Dolly Parton chip clips
Stumble out of bed, tumble to the kitchen, and get yourself a snack with these adorable Dolly Parton Bag Clips, on sale for $8.99 on Amazon. Each set comes with four clips featuring the country queen’s beaming visage and an iconic hairstyle. There’s no face I’d rather see at 2:00 a.m. when I’m sneaking to the pantry to emotionally eat Cool Ranch Doritos.
2. Ben Platt’s fur coat
Ben Platt broke the gay internet this week with some very hairy snaps from photographer Eli Russell Linnetz. They were so hot, I considered throwing away every razor in the house and writing a strongly worded letter to the Gillette company.
Bear Evan Hansen indeed.
3. The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Gay by Eliot Glazer
Comedian Eliot Glazer’s new hilarious essay collection The Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Gay (available to pre-order for $29 on Amazon ahead of its August 11 release) is a rallying cry for anyone who’s ever felt like the gay, black sheep. With candor, razor-sharp wit, and a healthy dose of raunch, the 43-year-old shares his candid takes on the oft contradictory queer scene, torrid hookups, and the absolute atrocity that is the word, “guncle.” Honestly, give him the Pulitzer.
4. Cocktails, but make them gayer
Have you ever looked at a cocktail and wished it was gayer? Thankfully, the Wood Stove Kitchen has you covered with their sparkling mixers available on LGBTQ Outpost. From the fruity and flashy Glitter Sangria and Glitter Mimosa (both $25) to the Glitter Simple Syrup ($20), these shiny solutions, made with edible glitter, add just the right amount of flamboyance to any drink. (And according to the reviews, taste just as good by themselves as they do with liquor.)
5. “Don’t Leave Me on the Dance Floor” by Carly Rae Jepsen
Between Madonna, Charli, and Slayyyter, I don’t think gay men have left the dance floor all the summer long, and that won’t be changing anytime soon, thanks to Canadian pop savior Carly Rae Jepsen.
The freshly redheaded singer just dropped the latest single from her upcoming double-album Day and Night, due out September 18. I’m pleased to report it’s a shimmering and thumping disco-flecked bop tailor-made for shoulder shimmies and singalongs. (“Remember how it feels to be the one to take me home” is already in the running for my favorite lyric of the year.)
Bonus points for its Jeremy O. Harris-directed visual, which finds Weapons hottie Alden Ehrenreich doing his best Flashdance impression.
6. This QVC queen slips up on air

This QVC woman doing her job hawking some Toni Brattin Salon Select Wigs when she made the slip-up heard ’round Gay X: “It looks like you went got a bl*w job—blow out at your salon.” Oop!
She might have sunk to her knees in embarrassment, but I’ve never been more convinced that I need to start watching the at-home shopping network.
7. A shirt for the dogs
The Mutt Dog’s Pups in the Park: Central Park Tee (available in black or white $45 online) may not be explicitly queer, but something about a bunch of pups sunning in Sheep Meadow feels a little LGBTQ+ to me. Especially with a tagline like, “We’re all mutts here.” It was an instant add-to-cart.
The best part is, the company donates 10% of its annual proceeds to nonprofit organizations in rescue ecosystem and features local illustrators, like NYC’s own Maritsa Patrinos. Plus, if the Big Apple isn’t your scene, they’ve got pooches hanging out in L.A., Chicago, and San Francisco, too.
8. A beagle I can relate to
Speaking of dogs, this pup made headlines after he was rushed to the ER for eating over two pounds of gummy worms. I’ve never emotionally related to a beagle before, but there’s a first time for everything.
And before you can ask, he made it out OK!

10. Hilary Duff does RuPaul’s Drag Race
Hilary Duff continues to get the last laugh regarding her viral 2007 “With Love” dance routine by recruiting fans to perform it alongside her on her Lucky Me Tour.
That said, she certainly upped the ante when she brought out Drag Race queens Crystal Envy, Luxx Noir London, and Aquaria, all decked out in different Duff eras, to show off the choreo at a recent show in New York City. (This is the same woman who defeated homophobia with “girl wearing a skirt as a top,” after all.)
