Ahead of his role in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey, Elliot Page is looking as jacked as a Greek statue.
On Monday—a day after many cities across the U.S. celebrated Pride Weekend—the 39-year-old actor/filmmaker showed off a gym progress pic that left the internet stunned, bearing some bulging biceps and abs of steel. Yeah, we’d be proud of that bod, too!

Specifically, he shouted out his coach Nolan Hansen, the trainer & athlete who founded the Trans Boxing club and works out of the world-famous Gleason’s Gym in Brooklyn, NY.
“I’ve been incredibly fortunate to train with [Hansen,]” Page writes in an Instagram caption. “He’s a brilliant teacher, not just in the way he breaks down complex movements, but also in his strategic understanding of boxing and his thoughtful approach to the psychological side of the sport.”
And we can see proof that training has paid off: it’s not just in the muscles, but also in the excellent form & footwork on display in the sparring videos included in the post.
“Training with Nolan has become an essential part of my life,” the actor continues. “If you’re in NYC and looking, I can’t recommend him highly enough. Just be warned, you may end up getting as hooked as I am.”
That’s quite a ringing endorsement! As are the hundreds of supportive—and thirsty!—comments on Page’s Instagram: “RIP CITY,” writes King of Showbiz Murray Hill, “SHREDDED,” adds comedian James Tom, whose stand-up show Less Lonely was produced by the star back in 2023.

And actress Julia Shiplett (Overcompensating)—who made her relationship with Page “Instagram official” last Pride Month—left the suggestive lip-biting emoji, making her feelings known for her partner’s jacked gym bod.
The images have spilled over to other social media platforms like X, where plenty of fans have been admiring Page’s form and fit physique: “Elliot Page showing better footwork than 90% of the “boxing fans” on my timeline,” one user writes. “He’s so f*cking hot,” adds another.
Notably, the post comes after some pathetic transphobic “backlash” to Page’s casting in Christopher Nolan’s Greek epic The Odyssey. Conservatives (wrongly) assumed the actor was playing mythical Trojan War hero Achilles and lamented that a trans actor—who they tried to paint as weak & diminutive—might be depicting one of the most feared and revered warriors on the battlefield.
But Page is looking pretty darn warrior-like in these new gym pics, in our opinion! Never mind the fact that Achilles is a fictional character, making their “anti-woke” butt-hurt look especially embarrassing…
And, besides, new reports suggest Page isn’t even playing Achilles!
Per Them, a Hungarian publication might have let slip that he’s actually playing someone named Sinon, another fictional character who happens to not be in The Odyssey at all, but rather Virgil’s epic poem Aeneid. In that story, Sinon is a cousin of Odysseus (played by Matt Damon in Nolan’s film) who manages to convince the Trojans to accept the gift of a giant wooden horse, which of course does not end well for them.
Anyway, it’s just another reason why the conservative reaction to Page’s casting is nothing more than overblown rage-bait that’s better off ignored.
Meanwhile, Page seems to be, rightfully, unbothered. Per his Instagram, he’s been spending his Pride Month hanging out with his girlfriend and getting some fresh air (something we suggest everyone log off and do).
He’s also been busy making the press rounds in support of the documentary Second Nature, which he narrates and executive produces. The acclaimed film takes a look at how queerness and gender nonconformity exists throughout the animal kingdom, dispelling myths and proving that the world around us is endlessly diverse.
In a recent guest appearance on Ilana Glazer’s podcast It’s Open, Page spoke about the doc, while also opening up about finding happiness in a form of healthy masculinity:
“Healthy masculinity to me is… leaning away from whenever there is some sort of impulse or expectation you’ve put on yourself to like shut down or conform,” he says in a viral clip from the pod. He suggests that he used to downplay certain physical behavior, but “ever since transitioning” he’s been smiling so much more.
Knowing that, it warms our hearts to see Page’s smile is on full display in those recent gym pics—you just might have to peel your eyes away from those abs to notice. 😉
