Sounding Ireland: Radio and the Making of Us
(New Island) by
Clíodhna Ní Anluain
. Marking 100 years of public broadcasting in Ireland, this richly detailed book is both a celebration and a reflection of RTÉ Radio and a century of stories told, voices heard and memories made. It’s the story of how Ireland’s national broadcaster grew from its first 1926 transmission into a powerful cultural force and a trusted national voice – recording our cultural, political and sporting life, nurturing creative talent, and bringing people together for shared experiences that define generations.
