Rethinking AI, Humans and Health
UCD Institute for Discovery
How does AI alter what it means to be healthy, cared for, and human? Join leading experts in medicine and ethics to rethink healthcare.
As artificial intelligence rapidly transforms diagnosis, treatment protocols, and healthcare delivery, we face a fundamental question: how does machine intelligence alter what it means to be healthy, cared for, and human?
The second event in our Breaking Boundaries in AI and Healthcare Series
, Rethinking AI, Humans, and Health
will bring together leading thinkers across philosophy, clinical medicine, public health, and ethics to confront the existential, practical, and moral dimensions of our evolving health ecosystem. Moving beyond routine debates over data privacy and algorithmic efficiency, this event examines how AI reshapes human agency, bodily experience, public policy, and the core philosophy of care.
The event will feature philosophical practitioner
Dr. Luis De Miranda
, as keynote speaker. He is the founder of Philosophical Health International (PHI), Associate Professor in Bioethics at Uppsala University, Sweden, and Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at the Department of Philosophy, University of Turku, and its Institute for Advanced Studies (TIAS), Finland. He is also an Associated Researcher at the Centre for Research Ethics and Bioethics, Department of Public Health and Caring Sciences, Uppsala University.
