Ready to feel a rush of excitement — and a rush of cold water on your bare skin? This Saturday, July 11, is the latest International Skinny Dip Day.
Yes, celebrants strip down for International Skinny Dip Day every second Saturday of July. According to Days of the Year, free beach advocates Lee Baxandall and Eugene Callen scheduled a yearly National Nude Weekend for the month of July in 1976. Then Baxandall’s Naturist Society expanded that annual occurrence to a yearly Nude Recreation Week in 1992. And finally, the American Association for Nude Recreation launched International Skinny Dip Day in 2018.
And 2018 was a big year for nude swimming: 2,505 people set the Guinness World Record for largest skinny dip that year in Wicklow, Ireland, as they raised awareness of breast cancer and raised funds for the children’s cancer charity Aoibheann’s Pink Tie.
And the social media users below have also gone swimming sans suits. Here are their pics, all of which are tagged with either #skinnydip or #skinnydipping.
