The Autism Service Teams in the Trust are multi-disciplinary services which exist in each of the 5 HSC Trusts to offer assessment, diagnosis and follow up support and interventions for children and individuals and their families / carers with a confirmed diagnosis of Autism Spectrum Disorder.
The ASD co-ordinator role is to take responsibility for the co-ordination, implementation and development of Trusts ASD action plan in accordance with DHSSPS Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Strategic Action Plan. Their remit is to establish internal links across directorates within each Trust to ensure effective interfacing across children and adult services, and with external agencies and departments, and the delivery of seamless services for people on the autism spectrum.
