Over The Rainbow Support CIC

Based in Workington but operating throughout Cumbria Over The Rainbow Support is the result of a group of friends who came together with a common goal of creating an organisation which aims to improve the lives of those who identify as LGBTQ+.
We have since expanded to include all people who fall between the “gaps” in current services and provisions identified by the local community and creating our own bespoke services and provisions designed to fill these “gaps”, whilst maintaining a speciality in LGBTQ+ related issues.
We provide drop-in LGBTQ+ peer support services for both over and under 18’s with access to information, advice and support. Along with this we offer a bespoke LGBTQ+ Awareness & Sensitivity Workshop designed to provide information on gender identities, sexual orientations and also providing information and insight into the most common hardships faced by the LGBTQ+ community and provides a safe space to ask questions.
Our aim is to provide a safe and inclusive space for people to be themselves in an effort to reduce stigma, discrimination, social exclusion and isolation as well as providing support and advice to those in need. Along with this we also aim to educate those who would like to further their knowledge on the barriers and issues faced by the LGBTQ+ Community.
