We view our work to be successful in achieving our vision when we : “Provide people with Financial, Emotional or Practical support at their point of need, while empowering them to tackle underlying root causes of poverty.”
Causeway Foodbank – emergency food parcels and one-off emergency essentials packs through the Causeway Foodbank (in collaboration with the Trussel Trust), via referral from authorised Food Voucher Distributors; Wear House – clothing and small household items (self-referral; appointment only); Celebrate Recovery – 12-step support programme; Compassion Housing – short/ medium term supported accommodation via referral from professional agencies; The Link – voluntary on-going supported work placements; The Open Door/ Compassion Support – one-to-one support, befriending and signposting; CAP debt help – free debt counselling in partnership with CAP (Christians against Poverty); CAP Money Management Courses – teaching budgeting skills; CAP Job club – individual coaching and community building over 8 weeks; Travelling Light – teaching life skills such as anxiety management and ways of overcoming depression; Grow community allotment – beginners workshops; Active Listening – a befriending and support collaborative project in partnership with the PSNI; Senior Moments – a befriender scheme in local residential care homes; our Compassion Christmas Dinner; and public and political advocacy.
